The design of the YKB Bench is influenced by Czech architect Jan Kotěra and Slovak architect Dušan Jurkovič, with their characteristic fusion of early modernist style peppered with Art Nouveau and folk art references. This is reflected in the design of the bench, with the restrained, architectural seat and supports balanced by the beam in a free-flowing, organic form.
Designer
Jiri Krejcirik is a multidisciplinary designer whose works reference European history, culture and heritage interpreted through his distinctive contemporary perspective. He has a deep respect for craftsmanship, with all his products hand crafted by artisans in the Czech Republic.
