Yale Launches Keyless Smartlock with Nest
Lock Up in Style
Here at Do we abhor inappropriate bulges in pockets and handbags, which is why we love gadgets which eliminate the need for keys. The Linus lock launched by Yale in partnership with Nest is the latest and slickest addition to the growing number of digital locks available in the market. The lock, which can be retro-fitted to most doors, features a touch-screen panel where users can punch in their pass codes or touch their phone against to unlock the door. The system allows multiple codes to be set up for different users and can be remotely re-programmed via the Nest app, which is very handy when you've forgotten to lock the door or need to deny access to ex-girlfriends. Unlike other smart locks, the Linus is fully integrated into the Nest ecosytem, which enables it to communicate directly with other Nest devices at home, such as thermostats and security cameras. So theoretically you could programme system to activate the internal security camera when certain individuals unlock the door and enter your home. Great for monitoring what your cleaner and, indeed, your girlfriend, gets up to.
