Dining Toys by Roxanne Brennen
Objects of Appetite
Some people liken the pleasure of eating to the joy of sex. Exaggeration maybe, but there is no denying the sensual delights of a juicy steak or an indulgent slice of chocolate cake. But are "table manners" and other dining conventions stopping us from enjoying the primeval pleasures of eating? Roxanne Brennen certainly seems to think so and has come up with a fun way to reignite our passion for food.
Dining Toys is a set of alternative tableware in playful and sensual shapes inspired by sexuality. They encourage us to serve and eat food in new ways, thereby rediscovering the experience of eating. We would imagine this is a good way to start some saucy conversations too.
Roxanne Brennen is a 2017 graduate of the Design Academy Eindhoven and Dining Toys is part of her graduation project.
