Ladbroke Road House: £5,950,000
Pad for the Lads
Nestled in the heart of Notting Hill is a remarkable home in a building which used to be part of the Mercury Theatre. The designers at Cubic Studios had transformed the space with the addition of a three-storey extension at the back of the house and a complete refurbishment of the interior to create a home which is masculine and refined.
What the agent says: "This five-floor, stucco-fronted property in Notting Hill has been skilfully and exceptionally redefined to create one of west London’s most exciting and contemporary homes. The designers, CUBIC Studios, have gone above and beyond the norm to create this exceptional and unique property."
What we love:
The spectacular staircase, with floating treads and glass walls punctuated by criss-crossing steel girders. Also the impeccable attention to detail, from the inset bannisters to the joints between the wooden floor boards and the kitchen tiles in the kitchen dining area.
What can be improved:
The second and third bedrooms are not exactly enormous. In an ideal world they would be merged to create a single space. Likewise the en-suite bathroom is rather tight, albeit very cleverly designed.
