UnStack House, Los Angeles, USD 1,945,000
Multi Level Living

Los Angeles may be the city of angels, but it is also a city of many hills. Angelenos are therefore well used to houses built on steep slopes. It takes great skill to design such houses without creating a myriad of stairs and small windowless rooms. This warm and welcoming single family home in the Mount Washington neighbourhood is a best in class example of how this is done.
What the agent says:
"Unparalleled design accents meet architectural sophistication in this exceptional 2,397sf home featuring 3 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms and two additional lifestyle rooms which can fulfill all configurations of family or work life. Nestled in the hills of Mt. Washington and located in the 10/10 school district of Mt. Washington Elementary, this new construction home has been designed to allow light and views to entertain the senses and accent the home’s perfection."
What we love:
The architecture is based on a loose stack of boxes cascading down the hillside, a perfect match with the interior spaces which flow into each other in effortless style. We also love details such as the soothing green facade, the curvy wood kitchen island and the built-in bench between the kitchen and the living room levels.
What we would do:
This house is hard to fault, but if pushed perhaps the metal window frames and railings would look fresher in white instead of black?
The UnStack House at 4548 San Andreas Avenue is offered for sale by Kendall Key with an asking price of USD 1,945,000. Prices and details are correct as at February 2025.

Product Inspiration
A compact, sleek sofa with soft shapes would look great in this house. Try the Duo Sofa from Sancal, the Spring Sofa from Moroso and the Hug Sofa from Collector.
Accentuate the soothing vibe of the house with lighting in natural materials and organic shapes, such as the Kactos Suspension Light from LZF, the Triluna Suspension Light from Karman and the Moon T Table Light from Davide Groppi.
Go for accessories with sculptural shapes and soft colours. The Curve Bowl from 101 Copenhagen, the Alberto Coat Stand from Casamania and the Souk Ecru Mirror from Dooq would all work well.
